French Montana Calls Artists Dropping Albums without Features “Weirdos”

Max B home holiday 2019!

With French Montana gearing up to hit the road with The Weeknd, he’s still heavily promoting his recently released Jungle Rules album. The executive-produced album by Puff Daddy, landed one of the year’s biggest singles of any genre, as well as a new remix by Mariah Carey this weekend.

The Bad Boy rapper was featured in Paper Magazine to discuss his background from streets to becoming an international star. He also addressed criticism of collaborating with artists on projects, and even revealed that JAY-Z’s favorite track on the album was the only cut he had no features.

Take a look at excerpts from the interview below.

On why loves to have multiple features on his projects.
“Who sits there thinking about weird shit like [going platinum with no features? Those people who put albums out by themselves are weirdos. Music is about having fun. If I’m chilling with A$AP Rocky, or chilling with Drake or The Weeknd and we record, and then I have to say, ‘Look here, bro, I’m thinking about dropping this album just by myself.’ Artists would stop fucking with you.”

The concept behind his Jungle Rules album message.
“You could wake up and hit the lotto, or you could wake up and be shot. You could even wake up and be the president. Ain’t no telling. It’s jungle rules out here. I be hustling. Always hustling.”
