WE WANT THE FUNK!
Man, if you’re not familiar with Funkadelic or George Clinton, you really need to reevaluate your life. The band is your favorite rapper’s favorite funk band. They had so much influence on West Coast rap music from the jump, with plenty of rappers like Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and DJ Quik sampling them.
Though the funk may not be as prevalent in rap as it used to be, it can still be heard sprinkled throughout various artists.
Live on KCRW, Funkadelic performed some classics like “Tear The Roof Off The Sucker” and “Flashlight,” jamming out like its still the ’70s in this motherfucker. We’ve never seen them in concert, but this is close enough. Shit just makes us want to put on the Greatest Hits and ride out in the old school.
