Future Earns First Ever Platinum Solo Album with ‘DS2’

Congrats, Bro!

As Future gears up for the Summer Sixteen Tour with Drake, he receives some milestone news. Earlier today, the Recording Industry Association of America handed out awards for 65 digital singles and 26 albums. One of the stand-out efforts on its tallied certifications, was the Atlanta rapper-entrepreneur officially earning his first ever platinum album, with DS2.

Although he achieved the honor last year for a million sales with the 6-God on What a Time to Be Alive, this marks the only time Mr. Hendrix has done it by himself. Since debuting at no. 1 on Billboard last summer, with nearly 150,000 units moved in its first week, the project continued to gain momentum and built a listening base through streams and sales over the last 11 months.

Following hits like Trap Niggas,” Fuck Up Some Commas and of course Where Ya At? with Drizzy, he can finally rest easy knowing one of the greatest runs of this decade didn’t go overlooked in the mainstream. Be sure to thank Hendrix for blessing us with that wave.
