Future Breaks Down 2015 Run & Temporarily Using Drugs as Therapy

futurestone16b

Last year, the rap world witnessed one of the greatest runs in music, as Future treated fans with four street classics – five if you’re including Monster. However, the Atlanta rapper has continued his movement into 2016 with EVOL, Purple Reign and just last Friday with DJ Esco on Project E.T.

Before the Freebandz rapper co-headlines the Summer Sixteen Tour with Drake in four weeks, he sat down with Rolling Stone Magazine to address a few things from his personal life. Everything, from dropping out of high school as a senior to sell drugs, having a public relationship fallout with a fellow entertainer and even initially being afraid of what people would think about him in the aftermath was all addressed in the conversation. Take a look at excerpts from the interview below.

Thought process before the great flood.
“I embraced what I thought they was gonna hate about me. I was gonna turn the hate into love. I remember Esco going, ‘You need to spend time in the studio and get back to creating, Block all that shit out. You going through a lot right now. Turn that shit into music, or it’s gonna get the best of you.’ Everything’s popping up in the media. Every day, it’s something. It was getting bigger than my music. I was worried about being seen like a fucking joke.

On casually using Dirty Sprite.
At first, it wasn’t something that I loved. It wasn’t till I discovered what I loved about it. Some people take drugs and they don’t understand the high. They take it just to be high. It started making me more relaxed. Sometimes you experience anxiety, and it did me some good for that. I don’t feel like I ever abused it. I used it for what I felt was needed.”
