Atlanta rapper, Future strikes big in his first week for the long-awaited sophomore album Honest. He topped charts debuting at no. 2 for his opening week, selling over 53,000; which has now become his highest charted album and best sales week to date. Highlighted by singles “Move That Dope,” “Covered N Money” and the Kanye West-assisted “I Won”; the Freebandz ambassador outsold Iggy Azaelea’s debut opus less than 1,000 units, which totaled 52,000.
The New Classic has seen a heavy buzz following her March release of “Fancy,” becoming the Australian rappers biggest hit do date. Both would fall victim to the critically-acclaimed Walt Disney billion dollar box office smash, Frozen. The film’s soundtrack is the only album in 2014 thus far to surpass 1 million copies, with Beyoncé’s self-titled holiday album in second with 648,000. Do remember to catch Future on the Honest Tour beginning in 4 weeks.
