Google’s New Streaming Service, YouTube Music, Has Arrived

Google is ready to compete in the streaming service space and have released their Spotify killer, YouTube Music. The platform can be downloaded and used for free, but users can subscribe monthly for $9.99 to have no ads or $11.99 for YouTube Premium (which was known as YouTube Red before).

The redesigned app and new desktop player gives new life to the service upon launch, as Google hopes that the massive amount of users that are used to listening to music through YouTube specifically, jump on board. Their huge catalog is a big reason as to why people use to music on YouTube, because you can find remixes, rare tracks and live versions that you cannot hear anywhere else.

Google also promises that music discovery will be better on YouTube Music.

You will be able to see that through a featured called “Your Mixtape,” which will create recommendations based on music you have listened to, favorite artists and more factors. Keep in mind, this mixtape will automatically be downloaded to your phone, for offline listening.
