RIP Prodigy!!
We’ve seen a lot of people in the rap community comment on the death of Prodigy over the course of the past few days, paying their respects for the Queens legend and remembering his legacy through Mobb Deep. One person we haven’t heard from, has been his infamous partner Havoc.
In a video released to TMZ, Hav speaks on his brother P and how he heard the news of his passing.
As Havoc puts it, he’s used to seeing Prodigy in the hospital, so he didn’t think anything of it at the time. He even heard the rumor about his passing and he laughed about it, because the Internet always comes up with crazy shit that’s never true. After taking his son to his kindergarten graduation, he finally called P’s road manager to see what was good and he confirmed the news.
Hav broke down on road and has been fucked up ever since.
We understand why he’s been quiet the past couple days, since he’s known P since they were 15 years old. Our condolences go out to Hav and P’s family and friends. May he rest in power.
