As if actor Lakeith Stanfield didn’t have enough on his plate with movies like Sorry To Bother You, Get Out and TV series like FX’s Atlanta, he’s diving into the music world as well. Under the moniker HTIEKAL (Lakeith backwards), he has released a video for his first single off the upcoming album Self Control. In the video, he pays an ode to Casablanca and Joker throughout the four and a half minute clip.
In talking to GQ, the entertainer talked about his future in music and said he will be speaking about “struggling and striving and getting through the harder times—and coming out on the other side with some hope” for his new album.
He didn’t divulge whether or not he will collaborate with Donald Glover on the new album, but we wouldn’t put it past the two to have something on deck.
