Before the second weekend of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival officially wraps up in a few hours, Ice Cube surprised those on hand in California with an un-official N.W.A. reunion. The South Central legend called up his Compton brothers MC Ren, DJ Yella to perform “Straight Outta Compton” and “Fuck The Police” together for the first time in years.
While Dr. Dre didn’t perform any of the Compton classics, he instead treated fans with “Still D.R.E.” and “California Love.” Lil Eazy-E also hit the stage to ignite the crowd, with the classic cut “Boyz-n-the-Hood,” leading to Cube bringing out the group’s protégé that inducted them into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just weeks ago, Kendrick Lamar.
