Over the last few months, we’ve been seeing the re-emergence of Murder Inc. Records, as Irv Gotti is plotting an official biopic TV series for the record label and the launch of Ja Rule’s recent reality show. Above, the legendary Queens music producer-mogul sat down with Complex TV to open up on how he fought for DMX to have a career at Def Jam. He soon opened up on how Jay-Z, Dame Dash and Lyor Cohen initially didn’t believe in the Darkman, but once “Get At Me Dog” released, the two changed the landscape for music during 1998.
