The J. Cole album you were dreaming for arrives this December 9th!
Today has been an interesting day, regarding rumors swirling around the imminent surprise J. Cole holiday album. The project prematurely hit online retailers this morning, before immediately being taken down. An engineer even took to Instagram to tease some new material he had been working on for the North Carolina rapper, but nothing was confirmed until now.
Online retail juggernauts, iTunes and Amazon, have officially announced Cole’s upcoming third studio album, which will be titled 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The title of his forthcoming release, is based on the same address from his hometown of Fayetteville, and will serve as a follow-up to his 2013 sophomore offering, Born Sinner.
Cole did make a splash earlier this year with the release of Revenge of the Dreamers, but has avoided over saturating himself to build anticipation. The eye-raiser of the announcement is his new LP will be releasing the same day as Lil Wayne’s long-awaited Tha Carter V, so December 9th will be one of the biggest day’s music sees in 2014.
