J. Cole’s visuals for “Crooked Smile” were originally planned to see a release a few months ago, but plans changed when he decided to re-shoot the music video. Serving as the second official single on “Born Sinner” and follow-up to his critically acclaimed hit “Power Trip”; Cole has another cinematic video that will receive immediate praise.
The video showcases the lives of Cole as a drug dealer, laying low out of the game to spend time with his daughter, while the D.E.A. agent on his trace is having a problem dealing with the consequences of his operation. They’re living almost parallel lives and coincidentally, both daughters are classmatess, as the two fathers face the ultimate guilt of each other’s actions of being the provider.
