It’s been five years since J. Cole signed to Roc Nation and a lot has changed since then. His career has skyrocketed, he rocked crowds all over the world and his relationship with JAY Z has blossomed into something that actually means something. In this preview of MTV’s The Warm Up 5 Years Later special, they play Cole World a clip of him in his early days calling Hov out in the studio.
That pretty much was a set-up for him to explain how he handled the question of Jay back then, versus how it is now. He says things are beyond him being signed to his label and believing in him because they actually had the chance to build since.
