J. Cole Speaks on Intense Conversation He Had with XXXtentacion

Considering we’ve seen J. Cole sit down with Lil Pump for a long conversation, it is no surprise to us that Cole World talked to the likes of XXXtentacion as well.

During an interview with Billboard for their cover story, Cole opens up about what the two talked about in their 3-hour FaceTime session. Apparently, the two spoke on everything from what XXX went through and why he talked so much about pain, spirituality and being in jail with people who killed at 16 years old.

The convo really touched Jermaine, as he understood him a little more after that.

“I spoke to him on FaceTime one day in February for, like, three hours. His management reached out to Ib and asked if he could FaceTime me or call me. It was a super-intense conversation. He left a mark on me, just as a person.

He was talking about spiritually and mentally, and that was intense because I was like, ‘Huh? I’m not on no level.’ He was praising me while also saying he was going to achieve whatever it is he felt that I had. I’ve dealt with mentally ill people in my life before, many of them. And right away, I notice that this kid is super passionate and smart, but I could also see that he was so deep in his mind.”

In the Billboard interview Cole also opened up about politics in this country and why he didn’t vote for Hillary Clinto in the last elections. He said if Bernie Sanders would have been the democratic candidate, he would have been first in line to vote but Hillary didn’t really move him.

He also touched on that Nas and Kelis abuse drama, which he had this to say:

“It feels weird because I fuck with Nas, but I just have to be honest. I came up seeing too much fucked-up shit for that to be acceptable. I don’t care who it is. I don’t fuck with people abusing women, and I don’t fuck with people not taking care of their kids.”
