J Prince Advised Drake to Not Release “Career Ending” Pusha T Diss

CEO of the legendary record label Rap-A-Lot Records, J Prince, has advised Drake on plenty of occasions throughout the past as far as his career and everything else. He has played a big part of his success in the early years and still has some impact on him, especially concerning this beef with Pusha T.

In an interview recently, J said that he called Drizzy and told him not to respond to Push after “The Story of Adidon.” Today, he expanded on those comments on Sway in the Morning, telling the show more about why he wants the beef to end.

“After speaking with Kanye, I spoke with the brother, and he didn’t want this. I saw this going to a place that I feel would have ended his career if Drake would’ve put out this song that he had on him. And definitely would’ve hurt families and we’re not in it for that. That’s not Drake’s character to tear a man down to that extent.

The ingredients were overwhelming. I know for a fact that it would’ve been bad for Kanye and my man. It wouldn’t have been good, it’s beyond music at that point. It’s gonna affect the livelihood, it’s gonna interfere with his entire lifestyle from that day forward.”

Though he confirmed a track does indeed exist, he says it would have “ended their careers” if he put it out.

Knowing Drake, we would have figured he released at least a week after “The Story of Adidon,” but things have been quiet besides him clearing up comments about the blackface photoshoot he did with photographer David Leyes.

Will we ever hear this original response? Is the 6 God making another, less scathing diss record? Is the beef over now?

His thoughts on Drake start at 7:17.
