The R&B world was shaken up today, when Jacquees took to social media to make a bold claim. On a regular Monday, the Cash Money crooner declared himself the “King of R&B” for this generation and got everyone up and arms about his statement.
According to Jac, he knows who came before him and established the lane for him to perform, but as of right now, he believes he’s the man for the title.
Of course, people from all over responded to the statement with their own thoughts.
Honestly I don't think there is a king of r&b right now. Anyone consistently dominating the charts, selling out arenas, etc, a la Usher at his prime. Not a comment on quality. I think the throne is open right now.

This King of R&B debate is just about the most uninformed, misinformed convo I've ever seen on Twitter.

Is there a king of R&B right now, though? Who would you consider for the crown?
