One of the new faces of the New York movement right now is Jay Critch. He solidified his spot with the release of Hood Favorite, as he looks to turn up in 2019.
As he tells Mass Appeal, he is already looking forward to the tour in Europe because of the energy out there, with this being his second time across the pond. He also recalls how much Brooklyn has changed but still remained the same, where he grew up, what he was doing during his teenage years and how he came up in the game.
Critch also explained his own particular sound compared to the classic boom bap vibe from decades past. He argues that he has the lyrics that match the sound of today’s generation, so he could cater to both generations.
He says every song on the album is different and shows his versatility with the music.
