To say Jay Electronica is Roc Nation and G.O.O.D. Music’s global ambassador wouldn’t be a reach, judging from how he’s conducted himself international to bridge the international gap between black people. While he’s putting music as secondary to reconnect with his roots in Africa, the Act II: Patents of Nobility LP is still on indefinite hold.
The Magnolia Projects native of New Orleans, Louisiana was in Lagos, Nigeria for a rare sit-down interview with The Beat 99.9 FM to open up on his reconnecting with his family in London.
Throughout the 20-minute conversation, Jay touched on the current state of rap in the states and whether it was dumbed down in comparison to years past; but did say he’s currently listening to Drake, Fetty Wap, Young Thug and Big Sean in particular who he didn’t know was a monster in the booth.
