Jessie Ware is about to release her third album Glasshouse this Friday, and today, she’s sharing something super personal from it. On her new song “Sam,” she sings about loving her husband since she was 17, her soon-to-be born child, and, the realization that she’s about to have a family of her own.
“And I hope I’m as brave as my mother, wondering what kind of mother will I be?,” she sings on the chorus. “I hope she knows that I found a man far from my father, Sam, my baby, and me.”
The song was co-written by Ed Sheeran, and features contributions from Nico Segal (of The Social Experiment), Francis Starlite (of Francis and the Lights), and Pino Palladino, whose work you’ll know from the likes of D’Angelo and John Mayer.
