J.I.D Breaks Down Outkast’s Verse on “Chonkyfire”

Coming from Atlanta, Outkast was a big influence on J.I.D. The Dreamville broke down one of his favorite songs from the group, which happens to be “Chonkyfire” off their 1998 Aquemini album. In this segment for VERSES, J-I raps the lyrics and interprets some of the bars off the song and how they impacted him. He even went on to say that at the time, people didn’t take ATL serious when it came to lyrics, but Big Boi and Andre 3000 changed the whole landscape for that mentality and perception of the city.
