We’ve been fans of London-via-Brisbane singer Jordan Rakei for a minute, seeing him work with producer favorites like Disclosure and Tom Misch and release his debut album Cloak last year. Now signed to Ninja Tune, Rakei is back and better than ever with his stunning second album titled Wallflower. He’s still the artist we know and love, but with even more of a fine tuning of his lyrics, vocals and production (with Jim Macrae).
“A someone who suffers from anxiety, it’s not always easy to express how you feel to other people,” he says. “Having kept my anxious thoughts to myself for my whole life, it has been very cathartic to write and release a record which enables me to speak about the issues I face every day.”
