Juelz Santana & Jahlil Beats Talk The Making of “Time Ticking”

Time ticking, ni**, where my money at?

Juelz Santana looks to officially be back in action. The past four weeks has seen numerous drops from the Harlem rapper including new music and videos. One song in particular is the Dave East, Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel featured song “Time Ticking.”

Before Juelz brings fans another dose of new music later tonight, Mass Appeal shares a behind the scenes look at the making of the new song. Jahlil Beats, the producer of the song, talks about his inspiration behind the beat and giving the east coast a definitive sound again.

Later on in the clip, Juelz and Jahlil are in the studio together and the Philly producer shares a story of making the beat with Puff Daddy in mind during the MoneyMakinMitch sessions and calling Bobby and Rowdy to come through and lay the hook down for the song. Then revealing that days later is when they GS9 cohorts were arrested, so Puffy had passed up on the song all together.

Juelz goes on to say he remembers when Jahlil first sent him the song afterwards and telling him this was “the one” and being approached by some up and coming artists to do the record, but Juelz said no being that he knew the song’s potential once they found the right time to put it out.
