Just a week ago, the idea of Kanye West running for president in 2020 didn’t sound so bad after all. Now, the idea has done a complete 180 in a matter of seconds.
Last night, during his Saint Pablo Tour stop in San Jose, Yeezy spoke to the crowd about politics for the first time since Donald Trump won the election earlier this month. “I told y’all I didn’t vote, right?,” he said before dropping the bomb, “If I would have voted, I would have voted for Trump.” Understandably, fans reacted with boos.
Kanye built on the statement, saying that supporting Trump doesn’t mean that he doesn’t believe in black lives matter, women’s rights and gay marriage.
