For those who didn’t watch the documentary Vinyl Weighs A Ton, there was a Kanye West interview from back in 2013 in there where he talked about the late great J Dilla. In this clip, he talks about how he met and thought Jay Dee had the best drums of all time, what he thought of the producer’s sound, and his influence on him.
He didn’t go off on any tangents or got extra energetic about what he was talking about either. He just kept it cool and gave his opinion on Dilla and state of music.
