Bad news to those who were expecting Kanye West‘s new album Jesus Is King. According to a source close to Variety, the album might not hit streaming services on September 27 like previously reported. The New York Times is also citing that industry sources do not believe the album will be released, despite folks trying to make it happen.
it’s Kanye so who knows but I’m hearing from many industry people that “Jesus Is King” is not coming on Friday, despite people on the ground in Wyoming trying to make it happen……..

Though these reports are coming out, Rick Rubin was present at the latest edition of Sunday Service in Wyoming this past weekend, which could indicate that the album could be finished. If anything, it at least signifies that it is in the final stages, considering Rubin has been involved in the past three albums.
Would you be disappointed if the album doesn’t drop on Friday?
UPDATE: Sources close to Billboard say that Yeezy will not be dropping his album on Friday like he had announced. No word on why yet, though.
