For months, TDE has been quiet on news pertaining to Kendrick Lamar’s rumored 2020 album. While the native of Compton has been in the studio; a music industry shared some eye-raising information.
A music insider revealed that Kenny was planning a rock-influenced album this year; and cited that the project could already be done. With Top Dawg and Dave Free readying the big announcement, take a look at the brief reveal below.
Did anyone not named Beyonce release better, more meaningful back-to-back albums last decade than Kendrick Lamar? Are you interested to know that I hear from several friends that recording on the new album may finally be done? And that he’s pulling in more rock sounds this time?

A lot of huge albums expected in 2020. I’ll be surprised if there’s one I listen to more closely the first time than this one.

Also, just to be clear, just because recording had hit a point where folks believe it may be finished — albums go back to the studio all the time after this point, and for a million different reasons.

Wouldn’t be the first time a revered rapper turbocharged public focus on rock. Ie “Walk This Way.” For most rappers, if I heard “rock album” I’d run the other way. If anyone can make it work it’s Kendrick though. And I don’t at all doubt he will. https://t.co/P98cnvxxPr
