Kendrick Lamar Explains ‘DAMN’ Album Tracks, Being Famous & Taking Care of Family

Kendrick Lamar doesn’t do a lot of interviews, but Big Boy has been lucky to have the man on his radio show whenever he asks. Following the release of DAMN., K Dot stopped by Real 92.3 to speak to The Neighborhood about his album, life and more.

When the conversation turned to the project, Kendrick shared his favorite song on there, which happened to be “Duckworth” because of the true story behind it. He also said that the album had another title that didn’t make the cut: What Happens On Earth Stays On Earth. Obviously, it was too long to keep, so he went with DAMN. after all. He was also asked about why the end of the album and beginning was in reverse, and though he didn’t reveal much on it, he did say “these stories never happened.”

Throughout the hour-long interview, Kung Fun Kenny also spoke on the come up with TDE, his family and buying his sister a care, working on his birthday and more.

Interestingly, Kendrick revealed that he has thousands of songs that have never come out and he’s lost hard drives from 2005 that had material on there he wants back. Imagine how many more songs he has in the vault that we’ve never heard? That’s crazy.

Peep the interview up top and learn more about the man himself.
