Kendrick Lamar Names His ‘Top 5 Dead or Alive’

King Kung Fu Kenny shares a rare list

Last spring, Kendrick Lamar dropped one of the year’s best projects, with DAMN. As the L.A. native gears up for his upcoming tour, he stopped by Power 106’s The Cruz Show for a conversation. During the hour-plus sit-down, he divulged into his passion and hunger for the hip-hop culture.

Dot also spoke on Prodigy’s passing, and how the music icon had an impact on his life. Before concluding, he touched on his top five dead or alive list with rappers – which he doesn’t like to normally name out. Kung Fu Kenny went to name JAY-Z, Eminem, 2pac, Biggie and Snoop Dogg.

He explained that those are the cats that inspired him the most, as fans should recognize influences in his lyrics. While addressing the elephant in the room, on why Escobar was left off his favorite five, he said it was tough to properly name everyone in that moment. Take a listen to a bonus excerpt from the conversation above on his creative process, as well as the full interview below.
