Kendrick Lamar Pays Homage to Mac Miller After His Passing

If you’ve noticed, Kendrick Lamar isn’t one to speak much, but when he does, his words cut deep. In talking to Open Late, the Compton rapper remembers the spirit of Mac Miller and how he was during his time knowing him, saying some kind words about the late Pittsburgh native.

K Dot had this to say about Mac:

“Great musician, great writer. Just always had a smile on his face, and that’s something that I commend. No matter what he was going through, he didn’t make you feel sorry for him. He was strong about it. He always kept a smile on his face because he wanted you to smile too, and that’s just something I always loved. No matter whatever personal issues, he gave you that energy.”

A vigil was held at Blue Slide Park in Miller’s memory this week, as his grandmother spoke to thousands of fans that showed up to pay their respects. Mac’s body is currently being transported to Pittsburgh for his funeral.

With the world continuing their mourning of him, Kendrick’s words serve as a positive way to think of him and what he stood for as a man.

R.I.P. Mac Miller.
