Last night, Lady Gaga lead an incredible performance of “Til’ It Happens to You” at the 2016 Oscars ceremony. Sat at a piano, she sang the powerful ballad with an orchestra and a group of sexual assault survivors surrounding her; the words “not your fault” were written on each of their arms
The song with Diane Warren was nominated for Best Original Song in The Hunting Ground, a documentary film about sexual assault on college campuses. The song missed out on the award to “Writing’s on the Wall,” Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes’ theme song for Spectre.
