Let’s Remember, Old Lauryn Hill

laurynhill

We haven’t heard a great deal from Lauryn Hill for over a decade now, with her one and only studio album arriving in 1998 in the form of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, which is often considered one of the best of all time as far as hip-hop and neo-soul goes. Before this came two full-lengths from the Fugees, whose album The Score is also thought of as the most impressive of the mid ’90s. Aside from a live album in the early 2000s, there’s been a lack of material from the New Jersey-born artist, with her imprisonment not helping the drive to deliver new music.

To celebrate her birthday, we’ve combined 16 tracks from Lauryn’s discography, ranging from solo pieces, live recordings, features and work as part of the Fugees.

Happy birthday Lauryn Hill!
