Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Luv Is Rage 2’ & XXXTentacion’s ‘17’ Final First Week Sales

The final numbers. . .

After numerous early reports for this week’s album sales, Nielsen Music has finally released the final numbers. According to Billboard, Lil Uzi Vert’s Luv is Rage 2 scoring him his first no. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 135,000 equivalent album units for the week ending of August 31st.

The album was powered mostly through streams earning him 100,000 on that end, and 28,000 in traditional sales. The project becomes the largest for an album stream sum since Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN earlier this year, totaling 105,000. He also garnered the third-largest streaming debut of 2017 behind Drake’s More Life, which had 257,000 units and Ku Fu Kenny’s respective effort at 227,000.

In related news, XXXTentacion’s first full-length album 17, landed at no. 2 on the Billboard 200 – generating 87,000 units (67,000 stream and 18,000 traditional). A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy also launched at no. 6 this weekend, boosting 41,000 units sold; which we expect to gain traction with members from the Harlem group going on tour this fall.
