DROGAS WAVE coming soon?
On Friday, Lupe Fiasco made a claim that Top Dawg Entertainment had used the concept from his DROGAS Wave album cover, for their “All the Stars” single with Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
TDE President Dave Free cited that the allegations of using the artwork were false. Well, with a little free time on his hands today, the Chicago rapper hit up social media and took part in a few questions from fans – which is something rare for an artist of his caliber to actually straight shoot.
Fiasco the Great, stated that while he does love King Kung Fu Kenny’s overall lyrics and story-telling, he didn’t feel the Compton native was a tier-one lyricist – in his standards. Take a look at highlights from his twitter moment below and let us know in the comments what you think.
I’ll put it to you like this. KDot is not a top tier lyricist to me and my standards when it comes to punchlines and bars. His overall lyrics are good his stories phenomenal BUT punchline entendre lyrically I don’t see it https://t.co/UpGUDQFyYh

I’ve never been destroyed. Also the only issue that the world thinks I have with KDot and I actually do is that i think his Control verse was wack and super overhyped to be a verse claiming you are the best rapper. It was very weird. I was told it was just bait but still. https://t.co/KOCDSkrZyj

@LupeFiasco go kick & push yourself into a tree with these wild allegations. 😂

responding to dave free
I see what you did there. However it’s rather impossible to skate into a tree because most trees are located in grass where skateboards don’t actually work to well due to the wheels not really being optimal for traversing across such terrain. Now a car or say a well placed gate https://t.co/7IaLw5kooa

Speaking on K. Dot’s flow
His flow (like when he gets last verse on that California song with Dre busy) is marvelous. It’s a masterfully done refinement of many other flow styles and his breath control is 🔥…master in the pockets… https://t.co/Z9k9vCqlDY

What he thinks of Travis Scott
I wish he was around a better group of MC’s to sharpen his skillset against i used to say this to his team all the time. his production & song concepts are alien but I wish he was a higher caliber rapper so I could enjoy it more beyond just the atmospherics 🤷🏾♂️ Love him tho https://t.co/BdZVjBprc6

If he considers ab-soul a top tier emcee
Ab-soul-Fucking-Lutely…
He’s always a member of @SOSAguild unlike @JoeBudden who keeps ducking the invite to the worlds most dangerous club of the worlds most top tier MC’s 🙄 https://t.co/8bV9vHhmDX
