Lute – Morning Shift

Artist: Lute
Song: “Morning Shift”
Producer: Savion Allen
Album: West 1996 Pt. 2
Director: Alexander Hall & Lute

Today’s a big day for Lute with the release of his first album on Dreamville. To go with West 1996 Pt. 2, the sequel to his 2012 project, he’s sharing a video for the track “Morning Shaft,” which finds him getting out of jail and running through woodland and empty roads to spend time with his daughter on her birthday. There’s a twist at the end, though.

“Fruity Pebbles in the morning with his daughter, she a star, reminiscing on the days when her mama had his heart,” he raps. “Ain’t no time to dwell, it’s like the people grow apart, spend all your time and thought then it’s back to where you start.”
