As far as straight up rap albums this year, Madchild‘s upcoming The Darkest Hour, produced entirely by Evidence, should be up there with the best of them. Today, the Swollen Members rapper is sharing a video for his new single “Badchild,” which finds him driving through the city after dark and spitting in front of neon lights.
“The overall topic of the song is on the darker side and Ev’s production compliments the mood perfectly. Reflecting on a fairly rough time that I had last year,” Madchild says. “It doesn’t speak on anything that happened in particular but more just describes the mental and spiritual state I was in.”
If “Write It Down” and “Badchild” are anything to go by, we should be in for a menacing treat.
