Though news has been circling about a memoir, Mariah Carey surprised fans today by announcing a new album of rarities. The project will have songs that were recorded back in the day and were found in her vault. The Rarities is set to drop on October 2 and will feature a new single titled “Save The Day,” which is produced by Jermaine Dupri and features vocals by Lauryn Hill.
The record samples The Fugees 1996 hit “Killing Me Softly With His Song” and was written during the Butterfly era.
In a talk with Good Morning America earlier, Mariah dished on her upcoming project, her memoir and why she’s releasing both.
