Two legends in their own right come together ever so eloquently thanks to producer Amerigo Gazaway. A part of the Soul Mates series, which finds Amerigo creating collaborations that we could’ve only dreamed of previously, Yasiin Gaye will contain concoctions of Marvin Gaye’s classic records with some of Bey’s most potent rhymes in a completely new form.
As for the “Anna” mentioned in the title, she was Marvin’s first wife, as well as the sister of Motown founder Berry Gordy. “Anna’s Love Song” is an ode of sorts to the relationship they had, as well as the memory of Anna, who lost her battle with life at the age of 92 on January 31st, 2014.
