You didn’t expect their work together to be this solid, right? When news came out about The London Sessions album, you can say I was a bit skeptical. Maybe it was just me, but I wasn’t too much of a fan of her remixes with Sam Smith and Disclosure. No shots on her, but it’s understood why it happened. They were probably fans, reached out and she blessed them with her talents.
Either way, it looks like Mary J. Blige is going all out with that London connection, considering Disclosure is now producing for her. Longtime fans might be a little confused (if they came from the My Life era), but there’s about to be a whole wave of new fans now on to The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. I just hope they go back and do their research.
