To go along with Maxwell‘s single “We Never Saw It Coming,” which was released last week, the singer also put out a short film. The Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz-directed vision finds an emotional Max and Yomi Abiola sitting across from each other at the dining table, on the verge of tears. Emotions are high on the politically charged record, as we find out she is pregnant, stressed out (she throws a mug on the floor and it breaks), yet suddenly finds peace as she looks out the window with Maxwell at the end of the clip.
The worst was yet to come.
By the finals seconds of the clip, downtown Los Angeles is being blown up in front of them as they look on from the Sunset Hills home.
