Considering Meek Mill is out on bail, he has been making his rounds in the media, especially since he got the grant to travel outside of Philadelphia. Live from New York, he visited Ebro in the Morning to talk about what’s going on with his court case and explain why things happen how they did.
In their hour-long conversation, Meek broke down how he even got to this point in the first place, but dropped mad gems about the system, why he’s put it upon himself to raise awareness on this topic and how he’s felt with all the love being shown from people he wouldn’t even expect. He said that he learned a lot from prisoners inside jail, that schooled him on why society is the way it is. This caused him to look at things different and come out with a different mindframe. Although he’s always talked about inspiring the youth in his records or helped the community, his perspective is different and he feels the need to speak for people who don’t have a voice.
He was also asked about Drake (at the 59:24 mark) and Meek said that before anything, the two knew each other as people and it was real that he showed love with #FreeMeek when he didn’t have to. He has no bad blood with him at this time and a collaboration with him is possible.
“It’s possible. Everything is possible. I don’t have hate towards him, and I don’t believe he has hate towards me. When I was in that situation, I seen in the media, he said, ‘Free Meek Mill.’ That’s when I was at my down point, when I don’t have anything going on with music.
Before we had a little rap issue. I knew him as a person, and he supported. And that goes for anybody. Drake is the biggest thing in music right now”
He also spoke on Kanye West, his subsequent Instagram post where he was let down by him and why he actually misses the old Yeezy. He revealed that he talked to ‘Ye right before that IG post and was confused as to why he was saying all of these things on social media.
