It’s finally happening. Mos Def has announced that he and Talib Kweli are releasing a new Black Star album later this year, and it’s being produced by Madlib.
Mos revealed the news during a surprise appearance at Madlib’s DJ set in Denver over the weekend. The project will be the duo’s follow-up to their last and only album Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star, which dropped back in 1998.
