Moses Sumney deserves all the shine. The singer’s voice has been captivating audiences over the years through a couple of EPs and some outstanding tracks, while also collaborating with Solange, Chance The Rapper and Flume, and performing alongside the likes of James Blake, David Byrne, Karen O and Sufjan Stevens. He’s not having a bad career, it’s fair to say.
Today though, he’s finally sharing his debut album titled Aromanticism. It’s described as “a concept album about lovelessness as a sonic dreamscape,” and showcases Moses at his very best, dabbling in soul, folk and electronic over a concise 34-minute running time. “My album seems brief but the ideas are dense, emotionally,” he says. “Why complain when you can press repeat?”
