Music Executive Explains How Drake Can Shut Down the Music Business

New Rules 6.0. . . .

Over the last few years, Drake has been working intensely to regain his music freedom. That included, fulfilling each album deal with Ca$h Money Records and Republic Records, through the release of his Care Package and Dark Lane Demo Tapes albums.

With Drake planning his upcoming sixth studio album, Steve Stoute believes the music business is done if OVO Sound decides to go independent.

He went to say, “You think that if Drake right now, completely independent … if Drake posts a picture on the ‘Gram of his new album, link in bio — fuck a link in bio, new album out — and he was fully independent, Drake will make $10 million a week for fucking 60 weeks.”

With Russ recently going independent, he’s already examining how Drake could be joining him on the other side.

Stoute continued on saying, “If Drake goes independent, the music business is over. If Drake goes independent, the music business is done.”

Russ, who’s examining the situation on Drake, he went to break the entire situation down.

He said, “Drake uploads ‘God’s Plan’ on a digital distributor so whatever money it is: less than $10 dollars, right? Fine, pay for the beat — $10K, $20K, $30K, $40k, whatever the fuck it is — and to get mixed: four racks. So you’re all, $50K tops. That song, you owning it forever and getting paid weekly on it, you’re making a million dollars a week off that song. It’s different. If Drake goes independent, this whole industry gets turned upside down. That’s why I’m independent, putting out music independently. I’ma fuck this whole industry up.”
