Ne-Yo is sharing his new single “Genesis,” which is taken from season two of the Lionsgate and YouTube original series, Step Up: High Water. On it, he’s bringing that new jack swing.
“My inspiration for the song was my character Sage’s arc and going back to his beginnings,” Ne-Yo told Billboard. “The music and feel that inspired him to choose music over the streets. He loses his way and has to go back to his roots to find it.”
