Fresh off playing their long-waited new album No_One Ever Really Knows at ComplexCon last weekend, N.E.R.D are sharing the studio version of their song “Rollinem 7’s.” The track, premiered on a special OTHERtone show on Beats 1, is their collaboration with André 3000, which features several switch-ups with the beat.
“It almost didn’t happen,” Pharrell says about the collaboration. “There were moments where my stomach dropped out. Because I knew if 3 Stacks gave us a verse, I knew he was gonna go hard. We just had to talk to him. We’re all clear that he’s a genius, right? We’re all clear that he’s an alien? So for him, he has a process, and there’s a bunch of things that need to make sense before he even commits himself to something.”
