Just when we thought Nicki Minaj was going to get into gear and light up the fourth quarter, she has made a surprise announcement on Twitter and told fans she is retiring from music at this point in time, to focus on her family.

We’re not sure if this is an outright retirement, impulsive move she’ll take back in a few days or her just putting her career on hold, besides the few songs we have from her right now, we may not hear from Nicki again.
At least in the foreseeable future.
Whether or not her Queen Radio responsibilities are put on hold as well remain to be seen as well, but we’re sure we’ll hear more from Nicki as time progresses.
UPDATE: According to TMZ, Nicki is only taking a step back from music for the moment because she’s pregnant and the criticism is getting to be too much for her.
