We love when an artists pays homage to the throwbacks and Normani is doing so through her video for “Motivation” today. Starting from the fact that the little girl in the beginning is watching the newer version of 106 & Park with Rosci Diaz and Terrence J, picturing that one day she would be No. 1 on the countdown, to the slew of references of 2000’s videos in the clip. Just off top, she goes from Beyonce‘s “Crazy In Love” to Ciara‘s “1, 2 Step” when she is dancing in the streets with her girls, then into Jennifer Lopez “I’m Real” by the basketball courts. Throw a little Omarion and Kelly Rowland in “Dilemma” and you have nothing but nostalgia for the new visual.
Plus, how she bounces the ball on her knee and off her a$$ in that dance routine is insane. Hand clap for that move, Normani.
