OS Flashback: Foxy Brown – B.K. Anthem

Over 12 years ago when Fox Brown was in the prime over her rap career, she delivered arguably her best single release from her catalogue for the Frank White and Iceberg Slim tribute “B.K. Anthem.”

It’s not secret she had love for Biggie, as he originally wanted her to be a part of the Junior Maria click when Hov brought her into the game; but she was paying homage to her mentor Jay-Z with the track above and you could hear it directly through her lyrics.

Yesterday was Foxy’s birthday, which we know she’s still celebrating her 35th all weekend, so we had to pay homage to one of the greatest female emcees to ever grace a microphone. Most will say J. Cole and Memphis Bleek were Jay’s protégé’s, but in our eyes it will always be Ms. Brown.

Fuck with the flashback up top, and then look for Foxy’s official return later this fall.
