Prince – Batdance (Remix) (feat. Big Daddy Kane)

The Prince stories and memories have been flooding social media and the Internet ever since we got news of his passing. Considering the Purple One has a stack of songs in the stash that were never released, we’re poised to hear new music in the coming months and years.

Back in 1989, Warner Bros. asked Big Daddy Kane to remix Prince’s “Batdance” record from the Batman soundtrack. Of course, Kane cooked something up immediately, but the label didn’t end up liking what they came out with. The song even had added vocals from Prince and hints of the Batman TV theme song, but according to legendary producer named John Luongo, Warner Bros. said it sounded “too different” to release. Even though Prince liked it, the label shot it down and decided not to proceed with the remix at the time.

Thank God for the Internet because now we all get to hear it now.
