This past Sunday, marked the 10 year anniversary since the release of one of Cam’ron‘s most prolific albums with Purple Haze. For those of you who remembered and probably sparked up a few blunts while listening to the album, you probably thought to yourself, “Damn, I wish Cam would drop some more music like this.” If so, your dreams or wishes of a sequel to that timeless LP might just be answered, except it comes with some bad news.
In a Instagram clip that the Harlem rapper posted yesterday, he announced that he would indeed be releasing a sequel titled Purple Haze 2 in the Summer of 2015. In the post he also mentioned that it would in fact be his final album, so he can move on to bigger and better things.
“Fresh off da flight.. To see my brother.. HUD 6 told me lastnite.. #AChangeGoneCome ..my last album.. #PurpleHaze2 this summer.. It’s been fun.. But HUD said we got other things to do. #Hud6”
While there’s still plenty of time in between for us to receive the long-awaited Federal Reserves EP with A-Trak and possibly another strand of EP’s or a mixtape leading up to the final LP, we know Cam will make the best of it all before calling it quits.
